The right way to love. 

Step 1: Love Allah above everything else. 

We actually vow for it everyday in our lives. Five times each day.

In doa iftitah, we claimed: 

"Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds." 

"Sesungguhnya sembahyangku, ibadatku, hidupku dan matiku hanya untuk Allah, Tuhan semesta alam."

Have we been doing it though? Have we really put Allah first before anything else?

"Some people set up equals to Allah, loving them as they should love Allah. But those who believe have greater love for Allah." (2:165)

This is one of the biggest struggle I'm facing. I'm such a fun-loving, carefree idiot that I always seek worldly pleasure instead of His love. I therefore decided to write this. I need this. I need everyone to remind me.

Besides, I see a lot of people getting the wrong idea when it comes to love, especially of that between a man and woman. Quoting an article I just read recently: "Instead of working to please a potential suitor, perhaps we should first seek to please Allah, the One who sows the seed of love in our hearts and can bless us with our dream husband or dream wife". - Hook up with Allah, Allah will hook you up. 

It seems simple, but it is undeniably easier said than done.
However that does not mean it can't be done.

Terlalu mahu dan mahu

Terlupa apa yang perlu 
Terlalu banyak alasannya 

Duduk terdiam

Tak mudah namun tak susah 
Terserah atas pilihan 

Tersentuh hati mula luruh

Tolong ingatkan aku,

Kerana aku selalu lupa.
