Meet Artemisinin, a small Panda with a big heart.

Artemisinin is actually the name of an antimalarial drug, or more specifically, a fast-acting blood schizontocide which can pass the blood-brain barrier hence the use to treat cerebral malaria in China. It is a natural product from a Chinese traditional medicinal plant Artemisia annua a.k.a Sweet Wormwood. It has high affinity for haemozoin, therefore it accumulates selectively in the malaria parasite. Under influence of iron, the peroxide bridge in artemisinin breaks down and release the free radicals that are thought to kill the parasite. It can also act by inhibition of cellular Ca++ pump.
Since panda originated from China, the name Artemisinin suits him well, don't you think.
