From my mom's fb status

There's no vocabulary

For love within a family, love that's lived in

But not looked at, love within the light of which

All else is seen, the love within which

All other love finds speech.

This love is silent.

- (T.S. Eliot)

Very true, especially for my inexpressive family.

Forever indebted.

Every single word reminds me of Atuk.

I remember every time I had a discussion with my dad regarding Atuk's condition, he'd say,
"Life is a cycle. We will eventually return to how we were in the beginning."

Yesterday we (my classmates and few other people) held a tahlil for Suz's recently departed dad. I couldn't recite the Yasin (for obvious reason I care not to explain) so I read the tafsir during the recital. And this line caught my interest:
"He whom We bring unto old age, We reverse him in creation making him go back to weakness after strength. Will they then not understand?"
"Dan barang siapa yang Kami panjangkan umurnya niscaya Kami kembalikan dia kepada kejadian(nya). Maka apakah mereka tidak memikirkan?" - 36:68
Ingat masa kecil kita tak makan pedas? Tokwan saya begitulah sekarang.
Ingat masa kecil kita tumpahkan nasi dan kuah? Atuk saya begitulah sekarang.
Ingat lagi masa kita jatuh dan tak reti bangun sendiri? Begitulah Atuk dan Tokwan saya.

I know some of the things mentioned in the letter (in the video) may or may not happen to our parents. But I had witnessed large part of it  with my own eyes. I can relate to it so much that by reading the first few sentences tears already rolling down my face.

I hope I am a good daughter. I will be. I owe them my life.

Birthday and its significance. Part 2.

I am not sure whether my friends read my blog or not..but a friend of mine recently posted this video on facebook. Which is coincidentally related to my previous blog post. Haha.

To sum up:

Sambutan hari lahir: Bidaah yang harus.
Bidaah sebab zaman nabi dulu takde pon sambut2.

Oh tapi kalau makan kek, bagi hadiah or makan-makan is still okay.
Better yet, buat kenduri doa selamat. (ingat makan je smak ini). Hoho.

Birthday and its significance.

Ceh, tajuk macam nak buat essay apa je.

What's with the fuss over birthdays, really?
Yes, I am one of those people who don't really care and often get in trouble for forgetting them.
And because I always forget others', I don't mind if they forget mine. I totally understand why.

Trouble is, most people do care. Lepas tu nanti jadi gaduh bila orang lupa. All of these hassles are really unnecessary, don't you think?

I personally think birthday celebrations are just an excuse for people to get or give presents. You can get me gifts and wish for my well-being and dream-come-true every single day, there is no need to wait till the end of the year to do all that. ;P

Looking from a normal and less nonchalant point of view, yes, birthday celebration and wishes will make you feel appreciated. And loved. Do bear in mind though, some people (like me) are just forgetful (i don't even remember today's date) but that does not mean they love or appreciate you any less.

Hmm, kata-kata daripada smak yang kurang prihatin memang begini. Pendapat anda?

Boredom leads to...

Stalking!

There is this building construction near my hall.
Spot the workers.

Zoom in...

There they are.
Mereka yang membuat bising pagi petang siang malam.
Okay nasib baik tak melampau bisingnya.
