What's with the fuss over birthdays, really?
Yes, I am one of those people who don't really care and often get in trouble for forgetting them.
And because I always forget others', I don't mind if they forget mine. I totally understand why.
Trouble is, most people do care. Lepas tu nanti jadi gaduh bila orang lupa. All of these hassles are really unnecessary, don't you think?
I personally think birthday celebrations are just an excuse for people to get or give presents. You can get me gifts and wish for my well-being and dream-come-true every single day, there is no need to wait till the end of the year to do all that. ;P
Looking from a normal and less nonchalant point of view, yes, birthday celebration and wishes will make you feel appreciated. And loved. Do bear in mind though, some people (like me) are just forgetful (i don't even remember today's date) but that does not mean they love or appreciate you any less.

agree. birthday is just a date. sekadar rangkuman nombor dalam ic dan surat beranak. ini kata-kata daripada aku yang agak perihatin (kot), hahaha
oh tapi ade orang cakap, the fact that you cant even remember that single date will imply that you just dont care about them. cane tu.

hurm, i do have the same problems as you but i remember those who i do really care.just sumtimes i dont realize todays date that makes me forget anyone's birthday. plus, thanks to facebook now, i can wish everyone a happy birthday everyday. haha.
but hey, give them some chance smak.
One's birthday is just the only day that people would celebrate someone. friends, family n etc. but if one forgets another one's birthday, wouldnt make such fuss.

birthday is important. its the day you were born. if it were my girlfriend's bday for example, it would be one of the most important days on my calendar, coz its the day she was born. we celebrate that date as a way of being grateful for having that person in our life.
plus its the only one day in the whole year that you can really call "your day", although you might be sharing it with millions.
so in conclusion, yes i would like people to remember my birthday, but if not, a belated wish will do just fine. at least i know they care. :)

i guess i am used to my couldnt-care-less family.
I wish I was born on February 29, then can make people celebrate my bday twice - Feb 28 & March 1 haha.

Everyone thinks differently, I'm OK with anything. I find it nicer if the friend remembers the bday cos s/he remembers, not cos FB inform s/he. tak ingat pun takpe, understandable...

something to think about, how many of us do know their birthday according to islamic calendar? or we just dont bother?
oh thats another interesting point. if birthday is that important, then why dont you celebrate all your bdays, including the one according to islamic calendar? it signifies ur existence too.
