Every single word reminds me of Atuk.
I remember every time I had a discussion with my dad regarding Atuk's condition, he'd say,
"Life is a cycle. We will eventually return to how we were in the beginning."
Yesterday we (my classmates and few other people) held a tahlil for Suz's recently departed dad. I couldn't recite the Yasin (for obvious reason I care not to explain) so I read the tafsir during the recital. And this line caught my interest:
"He whom We bring unto old age, We reverse him in creation making him go back to weakness after strength. Will they then not understand?"
"Dan barang siapa yang Kami panjangkan umurnya niscaya Kami kembalikan dia kepada kejadian(nya). Maka apakah mereka tidak memikirkan?" - 36:68Ingat masa kecil kita tak makan pedas? Tokwan saya begitulah sekarang.
Ingat masa kecil kita tumpahkan nasi dan kuah? Atuk saya begitulah sekarang.
Ingat lagi masa kita jatuh dan tak reti bangun sendiri? Begitulah Atuk dan Tokwan saya.
I know some of the things mentioned in the letter (in the video) may or may not happen to our parents. But I had witnessed large part of it with my own eyes. I can relate to it so much that by reading the first few sentences tears already rolling down my face.
I hope I am a good daughter. I will be. I owe them my life.
