HBM!

I got Hospital Bukit Mertajam! Hospital Seberang Jaya would be a better choice but HBM is not so bad. Alhamdulillah.

I have to warn you readers: my blog is going to be even more boring for a while since I foresee myself rambling about work in the future. Please be understanding as I just started working so naturally I am all excited/nervous/whiny about it.

Okay so here it goes.

Cool people (except for my cool colleagues/classmates) please stop reading at this moment. If you continue to read on, you may end up losing your cool. Trust me.

My first day ended at 4pm, after a lot of form-filling. A LOT. To future PRPs, do bring extra copies (around 5) of your I/C, offer letter, bank letter and KWSP to speed up the process.

On the morning of our second day we were all asked to help at the express counter at OPD because they still haven't decided on the rotations in different departments. HBM is not as big as HSJ or HPP so the pharmacy in OPD area is relatively small and everything is placed in that small space, so it is quite cramped. There are 6 of us PRPs, all blur and floating around in the small OPD. Sigh. The moment when the prescriptions (Rx) came, it was all chaos! We are new so we are not used to where the different meds are located so yeah, we kind of delay the process. But hey, it is our first time!

The most difficult part would be...to read the doctors handwriting. Haha. Seriously, doctors, can't you put a little bit more effort to make it comprehensible at least? When a FRP showed us a book on medication error I noticed there is one error recorded where chlorpheniramine is given instead of carbamazepine, or the other way around, but it is most probably due to the confusing handwriting. Oh I better get myself familiarize with the common brand names. The procedures are not exactly like what I learnt in uni but PP3 covers it roughly, like don't forget to write the date to come again (TCA) for repeat Rx. I got scolded because of that. Not exactly scolded, hmm, to rephrase: I was corrected strictly. And it did not end there. I did other errors for a few more Rx and got corrected by the FRP in the dispensing area. Yeah, I pretty much sucks. I'm still learning, biasalah.

After a long lunch break (since today is Jumaat), a FRP briefed us further on the work need to be done in OPD. Too much info in a short briefing, and I forgot to bring any notebook. Bijak betul. SPUB, DD, Buku Quota, ME, Extempo, DIS... (I'm writing these down just to recall, you can say WTH and just ignore it). I don't think I can remember all the details. Haiyoh. Anyway, at 4.30pm we went the Stor to meet The Boss, Puan Fauziah. She's nice, but she talks a lot. I think all bosses do, right? That is why we only got to go back at 6.30pm. I'm dead tired despite not doing much work, probably because I did not get enough sleep.

I think that's pretty much it. Actually I can't bebel more since I am feeling a bit drowsy...it's time to sleep. I know this post is at least as boring as my other posts, if not more, but it is helping me to keep track of what I have learnt or done.

Ciao!
[ I dont know why I suddenly write Italian (or is it Spanish?), am I that sleepy?]

Funny after only one day of work when I saw the signboard: Taiping 112 km the first thing that came to mind was Metformin's supply of 112 tabs just now in OPD. Hampeh.
